The value of tradition

Winery Centum Cadus, S.L. is born in 2003 in Curiel de Duero, beautiful municipality located in the Cuckoo Valley. Its waters have kept licking – slowly, leisurely…- the hard limestone rock to be a part of the best wineyard lands in the Ribera del Duero.

The elaboration is performed in a space fully equipped with the last technical advances, with the greatest respect to our treasure: the grape. A soft stripping of the grape coming from the harvest is done, later it goes into the stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. Medium maceration periods and soft pressing processes.

The ageing is done in a cellar which was dug with picks and shovels more than 300 years ago, in the rocky and proud hill which holds the Doña Berengüela Castle; there, our Dominio del Cuco is aged. Only a hundred barrels - “Centum Cadus”- can find their place inside. One hundred new barrels for an organic and mineral wine, which is born from the earth and returns inside it, to develop the full flavour palette that only the variety Tempranillo is able to express.
